This Privacy Policy explains how OmniTranscript ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and TikTok transcript generator (the "Service"). We built the Service to be privacy-friendly: you can transcribe videos without creating an account, and we do not sell your personal data.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Video links. The TikTok URL you submit so we can fetch and transcribe the video's audio.
• Account information (optional). If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address.
• Payment information (optional). If you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details; Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy.
• Communications. If you email us, we receive your message and contact details.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
• Bot protection. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish humans from bots, which may process limited technical signals from your browser.

2. How we use information

• To provide the core Service — fetching the video you submit and generating its transcript;
• To operate accounts and process subscription payments, where applicable;
• To protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and security threats;
• To analyze and improve performance, reliability, and features;
• To respond to your inquiries and provide support;
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Video and transcript handling

Video audio is processed transiently to produce your transcript and is not retained as a stored media library. Transcripts are generated and returned to you in your browser session. We do not sell transcripts or use your transcript content to identify you. If you use an account, transcripts associated with your account may be retained to provide your history until you delete them or close your account.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep the Service working (for example, to maintain sessions and apply security checks). We may use limited analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Service, such as hosting, speech-recognition, payment (Stripe), authentication (Google), and bot-protection (Cloudflare) providers, who may process data on our behalf;
• Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OmniTranscript, our users, or the public;
• Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Transient processing data is discarded after the transcript is produced.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. If you have an account, you can also request its deletion.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International users

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service may link to third-party sites (such as TikTok). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
